The serve and volley exercise
Description:
Having trouble with the serve and volley? Here is Emilio Sanchez Vicario with a drill that will help players gain confidence when moving into the net. Check out his drill now!
Tip:
We all know that the serve-and-volley tactic is not easy to execute, but it’s very rewarding if done correctly. This week, USPTA Master Professional and former ATP player Emilio Sanchez Vicario shows us a drill that works on serving and volleying. The player begins with a serve out wide, moves in to hit a backhand volley crosscourt and keeps moving in as he hits two more volleys. He then moves back for an overhead and the drill ends with him coming back in for a final backhand volley.
Make the drill scalable by adjusting the feeds according to the player’s level. Try it out with your players at the next practice session.
