Presenter: Bob and Tony Talamini

Bob and Tony Talamini, two specialists in strength and conditioning, explain when it is the right time for children to start working on their strength and conditioning. He states that the best time is after they go through their growth spurt, somewhere after 12 years old. Talamini suggests non-weight bearing training exercises that are not stressful to joints and that don’t force them beyond what they are capable of handling, since they are working with their own body weight. For example: push-ups, pull-ups, dips, walking lunges and wall squats. He also recommends that tennis players should work on specificity – tennis movement exercises with medicine balls.
