Fitness exercises with a ball
Video description:
Check out the video clip called “Fitness exercises with a ball,” taken from an on-court seminar given by USPTA Professional Adam Brewer. In this video, Brewer uses a large ball to demonstrate several different types of strength exercises designed to improve a player’s fitness.
Tip:
Physical fitness is critically important to a player not only because it helps him quickly and efficiently move around the court and get into position to hit a tennis ball, but also because it helps to have the extra stamina to outlast an opponent and finish out those long three-set matches. In addition, physical fitness is especially important in preventing injuries.
For these reasons, training and practice sessions should always include some time to focus on the development of fitness. Tennisresources.com has a number of articles, drills, videos and audio seminars available that discuss and demonstrate how a player can best improve physical fitness.
