Discipline in tennis, just as in any other area of life, plays a very important role. Discipline in tennis means developing self-control, including how a player behaves while playing or practicing. Setting a goal, staying focused and doing whatever it takes to reach that goal demonstrates discipline. The more disciplined a player is, the better his chances of reaching his goals.
This week’s tip features USPTA Master Professional Jim Loehr, Ed.D., discussing the types of discipline that are important for tennis players to possess. He brings up some very interesting points about how discipline in a player’s diet, sleep and rest, fitness and workouts affects his or her performance.
