Serve smarter, not harder
Description: Here is USPTA Master Professional Jorge Capestany with a drill that will help your players evaluate and improve their serve accuracy and efficiency.
Tip:
A common goal among young tennis players is to hit their serves as hard as they can. Having a powerful serve is always a great asset, however consistency, accuracy and variety are essential at higher levels. A flat powerful serve can be so much easier to return than a serve that has some slice or topspin on it causing the opponent to hit out of the strike zone.
In both singles and doubles, the serve plays a huge role on how the point will develop. In this week’s tip, USPTA Master Professional Jorge Capestany shares a drill that will help your players evaluate and improve their serve accuracy and efficiency.
