Deep shots and short angles

Description:
Watch USPTA Master Professional Lorenzo Beltrame demonstrating a drill that works on developing a player’s placement and shot selection based on the different types of balls he receives.

Tip:

This week’s tip features USPTA Master Professional Lorenzo Beltrame demonstrating a drill in which the player works on shot selection and placement based on the type of ball he receives. The drill involves a combination of deep shots and short angles and finishes with a dropshot. If the player receives a deep ball he will also return a deep shot, preferably to the opponent’s backhand. If the player receives a shorter ball, he will try to open up the court with short angles followed by a dropshot. By varying the speed of the feeds and using the concept of scalability, this drill can be adapted to players of any level!

Go out and try this drill in your next practice!
