Description:
In this fun and exciting doubles game, USPTA Professional Mark Bey introduces a drill that features the counterattacking team on the baseline versus the finishing or forcing team at the net. It helps players understand the phases of play and practice anticipation and finishing skills at the net. The game is timed. Both sides take turns and the fastest team wins.

Tip:

This week’s tip features USPTA Professional Mark Bey with a fun and enthusiastic doubles drill that implements lots of footwork, movement, reaction, finishing skills and communication.

Get better at defending against the team at the net, but also improve your finishing skills and learn how to be aggressive when playing up.

Doubles is a team game. It is essential for players to complement each other and not play with a singles mindset, where the focus is only on winning in one’s own half of the court. Communication between partners is vital in order to keep enthusiasm up.

Try out this drill with your players during their next practice!
