Environmental – Fun tennis

Description:
This video features USPTA Master Professional Jim Parker explaining how important it is to incorporate fun into training and competition.

Tip:

Fun is one of the most important components that influences a player’s mental and emotional state, and therefore his tennis game. If a player is enjoying the training and the thrill of competition, he is more likely to have a positive attitude on court and be successful. If he is not having fun during the whole process of development and becoming a better player, naturally he will begin to dislike tennis, underperform and possibly even stop playing the game.

We must recognize when the element of fun is no longer present in a player’s game and it is important that parents and coaches help to create an enjoyable and pleasurable atmosphere in all aspects and levels of training and playing to avoid this situation.
