Footwork patterns – Lift and land
Description: Here is USPTA Elite Professional and former top 100 ATP player Jeff Salzenstein discussing a footwork pattern that should be used when hitting balls from the middle of the court.
Tip:
Footwork and movement are such important factors in today’s game but are not emphasized enough during practices. In addition to practicing their strokes, overall movement and conditioning, players should spend time developing quick feet and especially a variety of footwork patterns for the different scenarios that occur during point play. Having several footwork patterns in their arsenal and knowing when to use them will help players deliver their shots more effectively and therefore win more points.
This week’s tip features USPTA Elite Professional and former top 100 ATP player Jeff Salzenstein discussing a footwork pattern that he encourages players to use when hitting balls from the center of the court while moving inside the baseline.
