Volleys
Description:
In this video clip USPTA Professional Mark Bey highlights important points on the volley technique.
Tip:
Many players who love the groundstroke game don’t feel as comfortable at the net. They wonderfully work their points from the baseline and hit a great approach shot, but have trouble ending the point at the net. What happens once a player finds himself at the net? Is his volley technique poor? Does he overhit his volleys?
This week’s tip features USPTA Professional Mark Bey highlighting a few key points on how to hit a successful volley. Besides good footwork, he emphasizes that players need to understand and feel the racquet as an extension of the arm in order to control the different types of volleys and make better decisions at the net.
